I. General information about Binh Phuoc province Binh Phuoc is a province located in the Southern Key Economic Zone, with an area of 6,877 km2, bordering Binh Duong, Lam Dong, Dak Nong, Tay Ninh provinces and the Kingdom of Cambodia, 110 km from Ho Chi Minh City. The province has 11 administrative units including 01 city, 03 towns, 07 districts, with a population of 1 million people. Dong Xoai City is the economic, cultural and social center of Binh Phuoc.
During the past term, the average growth rate of the province in the period 2016-2020 reached 7.9%. The economic structure shifted in the right direction, by 2020 the proportion of agriculture accounted for 24.7%, industry 40.3%, services 35%. The scale of the economy is increasingly expanding, by 2020 reaching 70,042 billion VND, 1.86 times higher than in 2015. GRDP per capita is higher than the national average, in 2020 reaching 69.3 million VND, equivalent to 3,000 USD, 1.74 times higher than in 2015.
In 2022, the province's economy will recover rapidly and have a good growth rate, up 8.42% compared to 2021. Of which, the agriculture, forestry and fishery sector will increase by 3.19%, the construction industry will increase by 14.46% (of which industry will increase by 15.97%), services will increase by 8.62%, product tax minus product subsidies will increase by 1.67%; digital economy accounts for 5%.
The industrial production index (IIP) of the whole industry increased by 23.08% compared to 2021; In which, the processing and manufacturing industry continues to play a driving role in the province's economic growth, with an increase of 23.54%. The budget revenue in 2022 is 14,282 billion VND, equal to 117% of the estimate assigned by the Ministry of Finance, reaching 100.22% of the adjusted estimate approved by the Provincial People's Council and increasing by 4% over the same period. Location Binh Phuoc has a strategic geographical position, plays an important role in the new economic corridor, is one of the 8 provinces of the Southern Key Economic Zone, is the gateway for economic, cultural and social exchange between the Southeast, the Mekong Delta with the Central Highlands and internationally, especially with Cambodia, Laos and Thailand.
